“Beyond Borders” 8th International Documentary Festival in Castellorizo (August 20-27) is inviting documentary filmmakers from all over the world to submit their films to the competition for 2023.

The Official Selection of Beyond Borders Documentary Festival, Castellorizo

A total of 30 documentaries will be competing at the 7th Beyond Borders International Documentary Festival, which will be held between August 21st-28th, 2022 in Castellorizo island, Greece.

Once again, the competition section includes a collection of magnificent films dealing with historical, cross-cultural events, trends and personalities that have shaped our countries, peoples and civilizations.

Τhis year the Jury of the Festival will award the following prizes: Best History Documentary, Best Socio-political Documentary, Best Short Length Documentary - all of them a kind courtesy of the Hellenic Parliament, Best Greek Documentary, sponsored by Greek Film Centre (GFC), the Special Award of Mediterranean Friendship by National Centre of Audiovisual Media and Communication (EKOME Media) and the Special Award of Odyssey courtesy of the General Secretariat of Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Also this year, the Greek Association of Film Critics Award and Phoenix/ZDF Award will be included ( for μICRO category).

The Festival is organized by the Hellenic History Foundation, in co-organization with Ecrans des Mondes (Paris) and is sponsored and/or endorsed by the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Hellenic Ministry of National Defence, the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Ministry of Interior, the General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Hellenic Parliament, the Municipality of Megisti, the Embassy of Australia in Athens, the U.S. Embassy in Athens, the Embassy of Spain in Athens, the Czech Centre, EKOME, the Greek Film Center and ERT (Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation).
