Tokyo fest asian winner from China SUMMER KNIGHT picked up by Flash Forward Entertainment

Dear Berlinale Participants,

 

We are glad to announce that we have just picked up a visually riveting new film from China - SUMMER KNIGHT, a nostalgic and revealing drama of a modest Chinese family set in the wet summer of the 1990s. The film has won the Best Film Award at the Tokyo International Film Festival Asian Future section last Nov.

In the summer of 1997, the schoolboy Tian-tian attempts to capture the bike thief, but he is stopped by his family which puts him in a moral quandary. Being disappointed by indifference of his family and submissive to the bullies at school, Tian-tian is eager to search for the meaning of justice.
