THE PARIS PLOT 2019 – SYNOPSIS By Joseph Aragon -Copyright Joseph Aragon & Germaine McCormack-Kos
THE PARIS PLOTIsabella “Izzy" Stone is the agent in charge of President Leyland Childs' Secret Service detail on a visit to Paris. Without warning, a powerful French magistrate charges President Childs with alleged war crimes after an American counter-terrorism strike goes awry killing many French schoolchildren in Islamabad, Pakistan, leading to massive anti-American rage and riots in France. The American Embassy is burned to the ground. Izzy, her small team, and President Childs find themselves in a violent, desperate race from death in what Kirkus Reviews called an "exhilarating underground pursuit."
The bloody chase begins at a grand hotel on the Champs-Élysées, continues through the nighttime streets and ancient catacombs, sewers and metro lines of subterranean Paris, leading to a furious gallop on horseback by Izzy and the president through the magnificent galleries of the Louvre as they seek to outrun their pursuers.
Throughout the story, there is romantic conflict as Izzy deals with her growing attraction to both President Childs and Liam Cabot, a mysterious British MI6 agent. Comic relief comes in the person of Father Manet, a diminutive priest who smuggles Izzy and President Childs to Normandy in his aging parish bus. There, Izzy and her team engage in a deadly final firefight as SEAL Team Six prepares a fast-rope "Hail Mary" rescue at the iconic WWII American cemetery overlooking Omaha Beach.
About the author. Joseph Aragon is from California. He worked in the West Wing of the White House as Special Assistant to the President. Prior to that he was an aide to Ambassador Robert Strauss. Aragon was awarded the Certificate of Meritorious Service by the president. He is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles, and the University of Southern California Gould School of Law. He has lived in Paris and traveled widely throughout Europe.
CHATELET (Sequel 1)
Secret Service agent Isabella “Izzy” Stone returns to Paris to help the French government on a matter of extreme national security. “Victor,” an aging Frenchman she befriended in “The Paris Plot,” will speak only to her about North Korean cyberhackers intent on killing thousands through coordinated cyberattacks on French and American nuclear power plants. The scheme becomes more terrifying when Izzy discovers that the mastermind is one of the world’s most dangerous terrorists. It’s a deadly race against the clock as Izzy tries to prevent a nuclear catastrophe for the U.S., France, and the entire planet. Liam Cabot, an MI6 agent and Bill Powers, CIA station chief, key characters in “The Paris Plot,” continue in “Chatelet”.
CATALAN (Sequel 2)
On holiday in Spain, Izzy is led to a small village high in the rugged mountains. WWII espionage, stolen art, jewels, alarming documents and an astonishing plot to use AI (artificial intelligence) to destroy the United States, leave Izzy reeling.
