21st NY Jewish Film Fest Closing Night World Premiere of Welcome to Kutsher’s: The Last Catskills Resorts Video Coverage

By Maria Esteves – January 28, 2012

The 21st New York Jewish Film Festival 2012 (NYJFF2012) Closing Night World Premiere of Welcome to Kutsher’s: The Last Catskills Resorts, documentary directed by Caroline Laskow and Ian Rosenberg was held at the Walter Reade Theater, Thursday, January 26, 2012. Entertainer actor/comedian Jerry (Gerald Isaac) Stiller and many of the cast members such as Helen Kutsher and Celia Duffy attended the sold out world premiere documentary of Kutsher’s Country Club. A special Q&A session immediately followed with directors Caroline Laskow and Ian Rosenberg moderated by associate program director Scott Foundas, Film Society of Lincoln Center, and associate curator director, Aviva Weintraub, New York Jewish Film Festival.

Questions posed to filmmakers Caroline Laskow and Ian Rosenberg by NYJFF moderators Scott Foundas and Aviva Weintraub included: Did you find in the course making the film that there are young people who are discovering it? The most incredible footage was the Wilt Chamberlain part. It was so amazing! Is there anything you can share about that?
