How to work the AFM for first timers

A few tips from a veteran:

Here are a few things we recommend you should be doing :

Pitch Ready

Practice, rehearse and test your elevator pitch!
- Which stage you are in
- Sweet and short,  less than 60 seconds
- Start with a catch line, give your films' references (seven meets rosemary's baby...)
- What makes your film and team unique
- What you are looking for
- Ask for a follow up meeting if they are interested to know more

Pre-Book your meetings

Contact sales agents and buyers early enough, a few weeks prior the market, their schedules are busy and fill very fast, ask for 15 minutes initial contact .

Update your Cinando profile

Your Cinando account is your electronic business card during the markets, be sure your photo is there, with cell and email. Include as many external links as possible, imdb, film website, production company website...

Publish regularly on myAFM

Answer topics, launch new topics...

Print Ready

Do not forget to have your business cards with you, ready at any time, never run out of them. Have a few spare ones in your wallet.
Do not give out DVD s  suggest screeners links instead (on your business card, handy and easier to store)
Ideally two sided with details of your film projects on the back,  QR code or link

Hi we met in Cannes....
