ORIZZONTI - WINNER (BEST FILM & BEST ACTOR) WORLD WAR III (JANG-E JAHANI SEVOM) by Houman Seyedi (Iran) goes to Hollywood for the Oscars

The committee in charge of introducing Iranian movies to the 95th Academy Awards has picked out "World War III" among the five final candidates to enter the 2023 Oscars.

Parviz Sheikh Tadi, the speaker and a member of the committee in charge of introducing Iranian films to the 95th Academy Awards, has stated, "After holding numerous sessions and evaluating 57 movies entering the first stage, the selection committee picked out 17 films for further revisions and evaluations, finally to choose five of them as final candidates."
"Hadi Hejazi's 'The Situation of Mehdi', Mohammad Kheyrandish's 'Dolphin Boy', Behrooz Shoeibi's 'No Prior Appointment', Mani Haghighi's 'Subtraction', and Houman Seyyedi's 'World War III' were the five finalists for representing Iran in 2023 Academy Awards."

Sheikh Tadi stressed that with all due respect and regard for all the movies on the list, upon inspection of the required specifics and  standards for submission to the Oscars, the members of this committee unanimously selected "World War III" to be the final candidate to enter the 95th Academy Awards as Iran's representative.

As members of the selection committee, we hereby salute the Persian cinema family and thus provide a report of the activities conducted by this association:

After numerous sessions and evaluating 57 eligible movies entering the first stage, the selection committee picked out 17 films, and upon further revisions the following five movies were declared as finalists for submission to the 95th Academy Awards:
'The Situation of Mehdi', 'Dolphin Boy', 'No Prior Appointment', 'Subtraction', and 'World War III'.

With all due respect for the films entering this list, members of this committee unanimously voted on submitting 'World War III' to 2023 Academy Awards.
