2026 Feroz Awards Nominees
The 2026 Feroz Awards, to be held on Saturday, January 24 at the Pazo da Cultura in Pontevedra, announced the nominations for their thirteenth edition, revealed by Milena Smit and Manu Ríos. The event was also attended by the city’s mayor, Miguel Anxo Fernández Lores, and the president of the Spanish Association of Film Journalists (AICE), María Guerra, who announced that the ceremony will be broadcast live on La 2 and RTVE Play. The ceremony will be hosted by Petra Martínez, Samantha Hudson, Elisabet Casanovas and Antonio Durán “Morris”, with a script by Diego Soto and Javier Durán. Bob Pop will once again provide live commentary for viewers on La 2 and RTVE Play. Sponsor Legado Ibérico will award a jamón to the winner who delivers the shortest acceptance speech... In the film categories, Los domingos, by Alauda Ruiz de Azúa, leads this year’s nominations with a total of nine, including Best Drama Film, Director, Screenplay, Poster, Trailer, and nominations for four of its performers. With seven nominations each are Maspalomas, by Jose Mari Goenaga and Aitor Arregi, and Sirât, by Oliver Laxe; with six, Romería, by Carla Simón, and Sorda, by Eva Libertad; and with five, La cena, by Manuel Gómez Pereira. Notably, the five films competing for Best Drama Film are the same ones eligible for Best Director — a category predominantly female for the fourth consecutive year — and for the Feroz DAMA Award for Best Screenplay of a Film. In the Best Comedy Film category, alongside La cena, the nominees are the animated film Decorado, by Alberto Vázquez; Mi amiga Eva, by Cesc Gay; Rondallas, by Daniel Sánchez Arévalo; and Wolfgang, by Javier Ruiz Caldera. Among the leading actresses, Patricia López Arnaiz stands out as she is seeking her fourth Feroz Award for Los domingos, a film in which newcomer Blanca Soroa is also nominated. Nora Navas, who won last year for Best Supporting Actress in a Series, is now nominated for Mi amiga Eva; Ángela Cervantes receives her second nomination thanks to La furia; and Miriam Garlo earns her first nomination for her role in Sorda. Among the leading actors, there are familiar faces such as three-time winner Mario Casas for Muy lejos, and Alberto San Juan, who earns his fifth nomination for La cena. Álvaro Cervantes (Sorda) and Sergi López (Sirât) now have two nominations each, while Jose Ramón Soroiz is nominated for the first time for Maspalomas. In the supporting acting categories, veteran actor Miguel Rellán stands out with his fourth nomination for El cautivo — after having won the award in 2018 — alongside Asier Etxeandia’s second nomination (La cena), and first-time nominees Miguel Garcés (Los domingos), Joaquín Núñez (Los Tigres), and Kandido Uranga (Maspalomas). Maria de Medeiros (Una quinta portuguesa) and Iraia Elias (Un fantasma en la batalla) make their Feroz debut, joined in this supporting category by three actresses earning their second nominations: Nagore Aranburu for Los domingos — who won last year as a leading actress in a series — Elena Irureta for Sorda, and Elvira Mínguez for La cena. In the Best Original Music category, nominees include Alejandro Amenábar for the score of El cautivo; the duo Hidrogenesse (Carlos Ballesteros and Genís Segarra) for Daniela Forever; Aránzazu Calleja for Maspalomas; Ernest Pipó for Romería; and French artist Kangding Ray for Sirât. The Feroz Awards also recognize the best communicative elements of the year’s films. In the Best Trailer category, nominees are Alberto de Toro for La cena; Mikel Garmilla for Maspalomas; Aitor Tapia and Manel Barriere for the final trailer of Los domingos; Miguel Ángel Trudu for Romería; and once again Aitor Tapia for Sirât. In the Best Poster category, the nominees are Jimena Merino, Álvaro León, Luis León and David Herranz for the final poster of Los domingos; Dan Petris and Jaume Caldés for Muy lejos; Jose A. Peña and Quim Vives for Romería; Daniel Requena, Alba Vence and once again Quim Vives for Sirât; and Ana Domínguez and Rafa Castañer for Tardes de soledad. THE SERIES OF #FEROZ2026 This year, the series categories saw ties in as many as three categories, resulting in six (rather than five) nominees in Best Comedy Series, Best Leading Actress, and Best Supporting Actress. The series with the most nominations are Poquita fé and Superestar (six each), closely followed by Anatomía de un instante and Yakarta (five each). Furia and La suerte each receive three nominations.
