International Antalya Film Festival


 

One of the most prestigious cinema events of Turkey’s arts and culture scene, the ‘53rd International Antalya Film Festival, will be held from 16th to 23rd October 2016. With the support of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, the Festival is organized by the Antalya Culture and Art Foundation (AKSAV). Antalya International Film Festival, held annually since 1963 is the most important International film festival in Turkey. Taking place amongst the palm lined boulevards, and sun drenched avenues of beautiful city of Antalya, the Festival will offer numerous exhibitions, retrospectives and opportunities to discover new trends in World Cinema and it is determined to be the best yet in 2016.

World Premiere from Török Ferenc at Golden Orange Film Festival

The world – renowned Hungarian director Török Ferenc’s latest feature film ‘ISTANBUL ’ had  its World Premiere at the 48th International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival. (8th-14th October 2011).

Director, screenwriter Török Ferenc is a prominent figure in the young generation of Hungarian filmmakers. His first feature fim ‘MOSCOW SQUARE’ (2001) was one of the most important cult films in Hungary after the change of the regime, and it was screened at numbers of international film festivals.  His second feature, ‘EASTERN SUGAR’ (2004), had its World Premiere at the 57th Locarno International Film Festival, and it has travelled widely ever since.  Török Ferenc  also received the Béla Balázs in 2008- the highest award and he has become a well-known director.

Turkey’s most notable film festival ‘Golden Orange’ is held annually since 1963 in the city of Antalya - one of the most beautiful provinces of Turkey on the Mediterranean coast.  The festival has started on the 8th of October with a remarkable Opening Gala. The main theme of the festival is ‘And the Woman Touched the World’.  Focusing on ‘Woman’ and the ‘Violence towards women’, the festival continues with full of activities, panels, exhibitions, screenings and plays throughout the city of Antalya and the cities nearby until the 14th of October.
