The Louisiana International Film Festival aims to act as a conduit for education and outreach where the residents of Louisiana may obtain skills and relationships that enable them to play a central role in the industry. Created to promote the film industry's indigenous growth along with its international reputation as an artistic and financial force in the global film market, the inaugural juried film festival will be held April 18, 19, 20 and 21st, 2013.


We believe the Louisiana film industry and talent pool will continue to grow. It is our desire to act as a conduit for organic networking, mentoring and training programs to grow out of this artistic professional gathering. Having a festival is a natural progression in contributing to the burgeoning growth.

• The name of the festival is : ‘IONIAN INTERNATIONAL DIGITAL FILM FESTIVAL’ with the abbreviated title “IIDFF’, composed from the initials of its name.
• The Festival will take place in Lefkas Island-Greece once a year in the summer and its events will have a duration nearly of one week.
• The entity to which the Festival belongs to is the Cultural Center of Municipality of Lefkas.
• Scope of the Festival is to promote the new technological and digital means that are being developed in the Greek and International Filmmaking and give the opportunity to as many as possible new creators from all over the world to screen their movies to a high level and modern festival.
• Festival includes movies of any origin from filmmakers coming from all parts the world.
• There are no restrictions in the genre of the movies submitted. 
• The  basic categories a movie should be classified is one of the following 3 with the associated permitted duration times for each category.  Short Films (Minimum : 1’, Maximum : 25’),    Feature Films (Minimum : 60’, Maximum : 120’),   Documentaries (Minimum : 10’, Maximum : 90’)
• Movies should have been produced within the last 2 years, the current and the year before the festival. they should not have any distribution and they should not have been re-submitted to the same festival.
• All movies must be subtitled in English and be submitted in three copies in DVD (PAL format region 0 or 2) so that their screening do not require special equipment and also give the opportunity to filmmakers  to submit their films, they produced, with no restrictions, using simply the widely spread digital media.

Audience festival showing 160 long/short films to 23.000 spectators.

Offers three competitions:

- THE HEINRICH award for European debut & second features (10.000 Euro)
- THE LEO for the best combination of sound/music and image in a short film (2.000 Euro)
- the French-German youth award KINEMA for the best debut film

Main award of the festival is THE EUROPA for outstanding performances of a European actress or actor and her or his contribution to European film culture (10.000 Euro). Hanna Schygulla, Bruno Ganz and John Hurt received the EUROPA in recent years.

The festival's second focus is "Music & Film" with film concerts, a portray of a composer and a music master class. Reknown composers like Michael Nyman, Carl Davis, Craig Armstrong and Zbigniew Preisner have been guests of this programme.

Other programmes are "New International Cinema", "New German Film" and an extensive short fiml programme.

(2) You will be responsible for delivery of the exhibition copy of the invited work in one of the Exhibition Formats specified below to the address designated by the Festival. The Festival will arrange and cover the cost of the return shipping of your print or video after the conclusion of the Festival. We recommend shipment via courier in order to permit the tracking of your entry once it leaves your hands. • We exhibit in 35mm, 16mm and HDCAM. • Due to our limited capacity to project 16mm, the Festival reserves the right to request that work originally in that format be supplied to us in HDCAM. • Films in competition will be required to provide a second exhibition copy to accommodate juror screenings. • The Festival may request additional exhibition copies to allow for multiple screenings at more than one venue. Shorts (narrative and documentary - under 30 minutes) • Eligible for: Best Narrative Short, Best Documentary Short, and Student Visionary Award. • Student short films must be produced through an accredited educational institution. • Shorts will play either in a shorts program or before a feature film. AWARDS • Unless otherwise agreed to by Festival programmers in writing, awards will be given to the winning film director (as identified in the Film Information Form). • Award eligibility is subject to any restrictions or conditions imposed by applicable laws and regulations (international, federal, state or otherwise), and the award recipient is responsible for all applicable taxes, customs, tariffs, insurance and similar charges or costs (if any). • All new feature-length works are eligible for the “Audience Award” regardless of section. • All feature-length shot in NYC are eligible for the “Best New York Narrative” and “Best New York Documentary” awards. HIFF is a worldwide renowned film festival.
