This two-day event, on Monday 11 and Tuesday 12 November, brings together UK and Spanish producers. The Spanish delegates will be introduced to UK institutions, producers, broadcasters and producers' associations in London. The aim is to explore the possibilities for co-production between what are now the two most exciting film-producing countries in Europe.
The list of those lending their weight to the event includes some of the UK industry's biggest cheeses: BFI chairman Jeremy Thomas, British Screen's Simon Perry, Channel 4's David Aukin, the BBC's Mark Shivas and British Film Commissioner Sir Sydney Samuelson, to name a few, on the UK side, while the high-powered delegation from Spain includes Pedro Pérez, the president of FAPAE (the Spanish Federation of Audio-visual Producers), and Jose Maria Otero, director of the Spanish Film Institute.
To complement this event, the London Film Festival will present 'Made in Spain', a sidebar of 16 films which have been selected from the last year of production.
