The London Film Festival will be celebrating its 40th anniversary from 7 - 24 November 1996. It is internationally recognized as one of the world's major non-competitive festivals of cinema, screening more than 180 feature films and 70 shorts. The London Festival does not just show movies and world premiers (documentary and fiction) but actively promotes them to the film industry (250 buyers and sellers), to the press (over 400 UK and international) and to the public. It has also established itself as the major European showcase of British and US independent filmmakers.
