‘PRINCESS’ by Tali Shalom-Ezer screeens at Sundance

posterPRINCESSweb.135720.jpg

PRINCESS, a feature drama from Israel, will have its International Premiere at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition section (see screening times below). The film is full of outstanding performances and heralds the arrival of a fresh, innovative and provocative director, Tali Shalom-Ezer. PRINCESS will also have its market premiere in Berlin in February.

PRINCESS is a deeply moving film that delves into a complex world of intolerable love, sensuality, sexuality and family. It tells the story of Adar, a 12-year-old girl who finds herself the center of attention in her workaholic mother’s bohemian home. However, the attention is misplaced. Hungry for love and connection, Adar finds herself drawn into the fun and games of her over attentive stepfather and a haze of confusing sexual tension begins to surround her. She is changing, but not of her own volition. Looking for a way out, Adar meets the homeless Alan, a dreamy, mysterious boy who happens to be her mirror image, and brings him home. The two embark on a dark journey between childhood and adolescence, reality and fantasy, which will forever change Adar's concept of ‘family’.
