Seven important personalities from the film scene will sit on the Official Jury at the San Sebastian Festival

Alongside them will be an eighth member: the Ukrainian filmmaker Oleg Sentsov, arrested on 10 May of this year by the Federal Security State of the Russian Federation (FSB) and today in a Moscow prison for having backed the Euromaidan protests in Kiev and his opposition to the annexation of Crimea by Russia.

To defend the freedom of expression and on request by the European Film Academy (EFA), the San Sebastian Festival, following in the footsteps of Festivals such as Motovun and Venice, has decided to name Oleg Sentsov an honorary member of this year's Official Jury.
