Pussy Riot Band visits IFFR

4970_1.jpg

Wednesday 28 January, Russian political activists group Pussy Riot comes to International Film Festival Rotterdam for a talk, a preview of the newest film about the feminist art collective and Jack Wood and Scofferlane concerts.

In the Signals programmes What the F?! and Everyday Propaganda IFFR focuses on current topics such as feminism, contemporary propaganda and political image-making. The paragon of political activism and feminism is, of course, Pussy Riot.

In conversation with Pussy Riot
Nadya and Masha, two out of three members of Pussy Riot who got arrested on 3 March 2012 and were imprisoned afterwards, will talk to IFFR Late Night host Tom Barman about their ideals, actions and future plans. Translator and creative Pussy Riot member Petya Verzilov will join the conversation.
Wednesday 28 January 13:00 hrs in Oude Luxor Theatre.

Pussy versus Putin
Pussy Riot's conviction was condemned worldwide. Pussy versus Putin provides an insider's look into the deliberations of these feminist activists: we see the activists planning their meetings, actions and performances and finally footage of them behind bars, awaiting their trial in court. A special IFFR presentation of this documentary, made by Russian film collective Gogol's Wives, is the lead-up to the live shows by Scofferlane and Jack Wood with an introduction to these Russian bands by Nadya and Masha (Pussy Riot on Stage).
Wednesday 28 January 16:00 hrs in Oude Luxor Theatre. Get your tickets >>

Pussy Riot on Stage
Pussy Riot members Nadya and Masha address the audience and introduce their collaborators, the Russian bands Jack Wood and Scofferlane. Nadya and Masha will also present material from the documentary Pussy versus Putin part 2, which has never been screened before.
