FANTASPORTO 2014 PRESENTS THE MOST RECENT FANTASY FILMS IN OPORTO, THE “BEST TOURISTIC DESTINATION OF 2014”

Going now to its 34th edition, the Oporto International Film Festival- Fantasporto is a film forum of the arts, with nearly 200 films, book presentations and art and photography exhibitions at the main theatre. It begins on the 28th February till the 9th March, introducing this year two new sections and screening many World and European Premières which will spice up the original competitions, Fantasy Films, Directors Week (general films), Orient Express (Asian Films) and Portuguese Cinema.

With lots of directors, producers, actors, guests and a very special atmosphere, Fantasporto is indeed a treat with 33 participating countries. The first new section is Fantas Classics, to present the remastered versions of film classics such as “The Wizard of Oz” and “Gone with the Wind” which are the highlights in this edition.

The second new section is called Industry Screenings, a chance for producers and sales agents to screen whatever films they want. The beginning of a new specialized Fantasy Film Market? Portuguese Cinema is also paying homage to producer Henrique Espírito Santo.

With a welcoming team and fine weather, we hope, come to Fantasporto, one of the leading film festivals of the world, happening in a city that was consider again for 2014, as the Best European Touristic Destination and is a Unesco World Heritage Site.
