Sacramento French Film Festival 2015 Audience Award Winner!

SAMBA, the social comedy by Olivier Nakache & Éric Toledano, presented on Opening Night Friday, June 20, 2015, won the 2015 SACRAMENTO FRENCH FILM FESTIVAL AUDIENCE AWARD.

14 other Premieres were eligible to win our 2015 Audience Award. GEMMA BOVERY, the dramatic comedy directed by Anne Fontaine came second. NUMBER ONE FAN, the thriller comedy directed by Jeanne Herry, came third.

SAMBA, the latest feature by the duo of directors who brought us Intouchables, combines humor and tenderness to tell its topical story. Samba (Omar Sy, Jurassic World , Winner of the 2012 César Award for Best Actor for his role in Intouchables) a Senegalese illegal immigrant, has managed to stay off the books for ten years while closing in on his dream of becoming a chef. When the authorities finally catch up to him, he meets Alice (Charlotte Gainsbourg), a senior executive who has recently undergone a burnout and seeks comfort by volunteering at an immigration center. Their unlikely encounter leads to a bumpy love story as they race to avoid Samba’s deportation…

SAMBA is distributed in the US by BROAD GREEN PICTURES and is set to be coming soon in movie theaters.
