RIFF'S 12th Edition GETS TO ITS END

HERE ARE ALL THE AWARDS ASSIGNED TO THE INDEPENDENT

 

The big winner is French "Ombline", a story about prison and motherhood Ex-aequo to the Italians 'Aquadro' and "Transeurope Hotel"

 

Record of public and box office gross for RIFF's 12th Edition - Rome Independent Film Festival (from April 4th to 10th 2013), which has screened, at Nuovo Cinema Aquila, more than 120 films in competition amongst feature films, short films, and documentaries coming from over 40 countries. The RIFF AWARDS, which sum up to a value of around 50.000 Euros have been assigned to the following films:

 

Best International Feature Film:

“Ombline” by Stephane Cazes - France 2012

 

Best Actress for the International Feature Film competition:

Melanie Thierry in “Ombline”

 

Best Italian Feature Film:

Tie between:

“Transeuropae Hotel” by Luigi Cinque

“Aquadro” by Stefano Lodovichi

 

Best Actress for the ItalianFeature Film competition:

Giorgia Cardaci in “L’ultima Foglia” by Leonardo Frosina

 

Best International Documentary:

“Mapa” by León Siminiani - Spain 2012

 

**Honorable Mention:

“The Suffering Grasses” by Iara Lee - Usa 2012

 

Best Italian Documentary:

 “La valle dello Jato” by Caterina Monzani & Sergio Vega Borrego

 

** Honorable Mention:

“Con quella faccia da straniera - Il Viaggio di Maria Occhipinti” by Luca Scivoletto

 

Best International Short Film:

“Column” by Ujkan  Hysaj - Repubblic of Kosovo 2012

 

Best Italian Short Film:

 “Matilde” by Vito Palmieri

 

Best Student Short Film:

 “Momo” by Teodor Kuhn - Slovakia, 2012

 

**Honorable Mention:

“Nicoleta” by Sonia Liza Kenterman - Greece/UK 2012

 

Best Animation Short Film:

 “Animalario” by Sergio Mejía Forero - Colombia, 2012, 3D Animation

 

Best Argument for Feature Film Screenplay - Premio Fabrique du Cinema “L’invito” by Massimo De Angelis

 

Best Screenplay for Short Film - Premio Factotum Art “Primo” by Marco Tosti

 

 

All RIFF Awards have been assigned by the Festival's International Jury,

which counted with Pascale Faure (short film responsable at Canal+ France),

Philippe Kreuzer (Bavaria Media GmbH), Heinz Hermanns (Germany, director of

the Berlin's Festival Interfilm), David Pope (cinema producer, film maker and

advisor), Fiamma Arditi (founder and president of the Festival Without

Borders), Wilma Labate (director and documentarist), Emma Rossi Landi

(director and coordinator DOC.it), Agostino Ferrente (producer, director, and

founder of Apolloundici), Beatrice Coletti (Channel Director at Babel),

Christian Carmosino, (director, president at Ass. Officine and coordinator at

DOC.it), Franco Montini (journalist and critics at La Repubblica, President

of Sindacato Nazionale Critici Cinematografici Italiani - SNCCI), Tommaso

Piotta (singer, musician, and producer), Victoria Pistoia (Sosia&Pistoia,

Ufficio casting cinema and audiovisual productions), Nicola Vaporidis

(actor), Fabio Meloni (director of Cinema Aquila and an exponent from Fabian

Art Society).

Amongst the distinguished guests that have intervened during the Festival, we

recall:

Councillir of Culture for the Lacio Region, Lidia Ravera, Councillor of

Cultural Politics and Historic Center of Rome Capital City, Dino Gasperini,

and amidst the international guests: Ewen Bremner, Namgyal Lhamo, Tina

Gharavi, Endre Hules, Ondrej Zima, Xavier Atance, James Richard Baille, Kasia

Roslaniec, Timothy L. Anderson, Amira Bochenska, Alberto Reveron, Adele

RIFF has been realized with the organizational support of the Council for
