Meet Keith Garcia Programming Manager for Denver Film Society and the Sie FilmCenter

Allow me to (re)introduce myself. I'm Keith Garcia and I'm happy to announce that I will be the interim Programming Manager for Denver Film Society and the Sie FilmCenter for the next little while. Some of you may know me from my salad days when I held this same position for the organization for nearly a decade - going all the way back to the ol' Starz FilmCenter and the first few years of the good ol' Sie - and some of you may only know me from my recent arrival as the curator of the ALMODOVAR EN TOTAL series that is currently lighting up the screens at the theater.

However you know me, take solace in the fact that I've arrived to take the reins of the FilmCenter and guide its most precious cargo - that would be the many films that you watch there - and make sure that it arrives safely to your eyes every week.

I'm going to keep peppering your favorite arthouse with the fine cinematic seasonings you've enjoyed for years and see what kind of robust buffet we can serve you in 2018 so start getting your plates ready. If my ALMODOVAR series is any indicator you'll be very well fed!
I'm open to suggestions about what you'd like to see hit our screens here in Denver and good ol' constructive criticism (IE: stop using 'ol' and just use 'old', WEIRDO) so drop me a line at keith@denverfilm.org.

Some personal info on me for my card: I'll be 40 on the 21st (the eclipse will either give me superpowers or dissolve me entirely), I'm single AF, I love pizza and my favorite film is a tie between WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT? and WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN.
I left the organization in 2013 to batten down the hatches on a documentary I started in 2008 on Denver's illustrious drag community and I'm almost done with it! You can watch a fancy teaser trailer for it here and even donate to help to finish it here

I'm so glad that we get this time together. Make sure you check out some films this weekend at the Sie! ALMODOVAR EN TOTAL keeps rolling with HIGH HEELS, TIE ME UP! TIE ME DOWN!, KIKA and LIVE FLESH, take a chance!

LANDLINE is a delightful '90s set family dramedy starring Edie Falco and the wonderful Jenny Slate (reunited with her OBVIOUS CHILD director).

And if you love sacrilegious nuns then the twisted sisters at the bleeding heart of dark comedy THE LITTLE HOURS will keep your knuckles rapt with attention.

See you at the Sie!

Keith
