Chelsea Film Festival announces 2015 Winners

The Chelsea Film Festival announced the 2015 winners this past Sunday, October 18th at the SVA Theatre in the heart of Chelsea.

The Closing Awards Ceremony was hosted by CFF Founder and Director Ingrid Jean-Baptiste, who reminded the importance of the Festival's mission: "The Festival's mission is to discover emerging directors from around the world and be an international platform for independent filmmaking. It has been a very successful year. The Chelsea Film Festival received over a thousand submissions. Sixty-six films were selected, nineteen feature-lengths and fourty-seven shorts. Over the course of four days, 10 World, 33 US and 19 NY Premieres have been presented from 24 countries."

Twenty prizes were distributed by reputed movie industry insiders:

Elizabeth Kemp, Ingrid Jean-Baptiste, Paul Calderon, Sonia Jean-Baptiste and Tiffany Bartok.

The Grand Prix Winner was presented with a Charging Bull Trophy and a $10,000 Gift Certificate by Panavision. The Petite Prix Winner was presented with a $5,000 Gift Certificate by Panavision. In addition, a RØDE Microphone was offered to all winners of the Chelsea Film Festival.

In partnership with BOW TIE CINEMAS in Chelsea, the Grand Prix Winner Film, P.T.S.D (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) Directed by Cedric Godin will be presented at the launch of the Kino & Vino Series® on November 9th, 2015 at 7pm (bit.ly/kinoandvino).

CFF was founded by actresses Ingrid & Sonia Jean-Baptiste to give voices to the unheard by providing a platform to independent films and discovering new talents.

Chelsea Film Festival Board of Directors consists of renowned industry insiders: Paul Calderon, Elizabeth Kemp, and John Patrick Shanley.

The Advisory Board includes: Bruno Chatelin, Georges Leclere, Jeff Bandman, Pascal Chemin, Michel Abramowicz, Michael Ruotolo, Pascal Bonifay, Patrick Braoude, Ron Agam, Thandeka Zwana, Thembi Mtshali-Jones, Wissam Chahine and more.

The Chelsea Film Festival program highlighted international feature-length, short films and documentaries from independent or emerging filmmakers. The Third Edition of the Chelsea Film Festival focused on "Women in Film & Media", and introduced foreign films to the public.

The Chelsea Film Festival (CFF) held its third edition in New York from October 15-18th, 2015 at the SVA Theatre, Katie Murphy Amphitheatre (FIT), David Dubinsky Student Center (FIT) and other locations in Manhattan.

The Chelsea Film Institute is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit cultural organization that helps expose the underprivileged youth in Chelsea, NYC to the arts. Throughout the year, CFI offers free Arts classes to these economically disadvantaged children.

It offers a wide range of films, such as shorts, documentaries, and feature-length pieces.
