Three Dollar Bill Cinema is thrilled to announce the world premiere of Clyde Petersen's feature film debut, TORREY PINES, as the Opening Night film of the 2016 TWIST: Seattle Queer Film Festival. The film will screen Thursday, October 13 at the Egyptian Theater with live musical accompaniment and foley.
An enthralling and visually stunning queer coming-of-age tale, TORREY PINES is based on Petersen’s fascinating life story. Set in Southern California in the early 1990s, the film follows Petersen’s complicated upbringing by a schizophrenic single mother. Fueled by family dysfunction and hallucinations of political conspiracy, parent and child take off on an unforgettable cross-country adventure that will forever alter their lives.
Three Dollar Bill Cinema was the Fiscal Sponsor for TORREY PINES during the three-year production process, during which Seattle filmmaker and artist Clyde Petersen painstakingly created this beautiful and profound stop-motion film.
