Following the conclusion of the 2nd Mountain & Adventure Film Festival, Film Festival Flix is pleased to announce the 2016 award-winning films. This past February, 70 finalists competed in 11 categories over 29 days. Viewers were able to watch and vote for their favorite films through their computer, tablet, smart phone, or Internet connected TV. "We couldn't be more pleased with the quality of this year's films, our audience's reaction, and the exponential growth we saw over the 2015 festival" said Film Festival Flix CEO, Benjamin Oberman.

The 11 category winners were determined solely by audience vote. The top 3 audience voted films were submitted to the Festival's Athlete Ambassador Council who voted to award the Grand Prize. The elite Athlete Ambassador Council is comprised of Alex HonnoldSteph DavisSasha DiGiulianCedar WrightEmily HarringtonJeremy JonesAdrian BallingerJeremy CollinsHans FlorineMayan Smith-GobatBen RueckArian ChamasmanyLibby SauterWill MayoMatthias MayrHeidi WirtzCraig DeMartino, and Timmy O'Neill. The festival will award $15,000 in cash prizes, awards, and distribution opportunities to the winning filmmakers.

Best Short Film: “Frank and the Tower”, Directed by Fitz Cahall
Best Adventure Film: “Wampler’s Ascent”, Directed by Elizabeth Wampler
Best Climbing Film: “Citadel”, Directed by Alastair Lee
Best Skiing Film: “Sugar Mountain”, Directed by Richard James
Best Paddling Film: “Martin’s Boat”, Directed by Pete McBride
Best Free Flight Film: “The Mysteries”, Directed by Skip Armstrong
Best Biking Film: “Rolling in the Alps”, Directed by Laurent Crestan
Best Slackline Film: “Jerry’s 704 ft. World Record Highline”, Directed by Grant Thompson
Best Environmental Film: “Monument Valley – Sunrise to Moonrise”, Directed by Christopher Swainhart
Best Cultural Film: “Drawn”, Directed by Jeremy Collins
