Taiwan International Children’s Film Festival (TICFF) is a biennial event founded by Public Television Service (PTS) in 2004. It is the first film and television festival in Asia dedicated entirely to children at the age of 4-12. The 9th edition of TICFF is scheduled for April 2020 in Taipei. We are calling for entries for the international competition section with a cash prize of US$25,000 in total for extraordinary productions of dramas, animations and TV/Web programs. Submissions to competition will also be considered as candidates for our official selection. As the oldest and biggest children’s film festival in Taiwan, TICFF has established a reputation in film selection. Many films screened in TICFF later got invited by other children’s festivals in Taiwan, or approached by Taiwanese distributors and educators. So this could be a great opportunity for your films to get exposure in Taiwan! We also welcome submissions to our non-competitive sections, including documentaries and “Kids as Directors” productions. “Kids as Directors Workshop” is a project for young filmmakers in Taiwan to take the lead and create their own works with assistance from professionals. Their works will be screened during the festival along with productions made by international young filmmakers. ABOUT THE FESTIVALTICFF was founded by Public Television Service (PTS) in 2004. It is the first film and television festival in Asia dedicated entirely to children, with its mission to encourage quality children's programming and to engage young local viewers with valuable access to the media. TICFF screens multicultural productions from around the globe and presents cash prizes to the Festival's winning submissions. A biennial film festival, TICFF brings young children and adults to enjoy the works in this international exhibition, which will take place in April 2018 for its eighth edition. Public Television Service (PTS) Foundation, the festival organizer of this event, is now signing up entries to attract some of the finest filmmakers around the world with the lure of USD 24,500 in prize money. Except for showing outstanding dramas, documentaries, animations, and television/web programs, the festival juries also bestows a Taiwan Award on the selected filmmaker for the best work which represents Taiwan and exemplified the highest standards in the industry. We believe this category will inspire more film and video producers in Taiwan. All entries must be suitable for children under 12.
