Tiberius Film acquires four international movie highlights at the EFM
The leading German indie distributer Tiberius Film has acquired the rights to four international movie highlights at the European Film Market 2015. Wolfgang Carl, Managing Director of Tiberius Film GmbH, says: “The EFM is always a very good forum for us to discover exciting and promising movies. We are very excited that our acquisitions have begun so well this year. Our new films include a variety of highlights for all target groups, ranging from French romantic comedy to gripping genre films.” The French romantic comedy LOVE AT FIRST FIGHT („Les Combattants“), directed by Thomas Cailley, has just been nominated for the French film award César 2015 in nine categories – including a nomination for Best Film. The movie tells the funny and insightful story of two teenagers who fall in love with each other against all odds. Tiberius Film also acquired the brilliantly cast thriller OCTOBER GALE, directed by the Canadian Ruba Nadda (“Cairo Time”, “Sabah”), which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival 2014. Patricia Clarkson (“The Maze Runner”, “Friends with Benefits”, “Shutter Island”), Scott Speedman (“Barefoot”, “The Vow”, “Underworld”) and Tim Roth (“Grace of Monaco”, “The Incredible Hulk”) take on the leading roles. Additionally, Tiberius Film secured the rights to CABIN FEVER: REBOOT – the reinterpretation of his thrilling horror movie from 2002. Eli Roth, who wrote and directed the original movie, continues his success story, this time as writer and executive producer. The gory spectacle will be directed by Travis Zariwny (“Space Soldiers”) and stars Gage Golightly (“Teen Wolf”, “The Troop”) and Matthew Daddario (“Delivery Man”). Another highlight is the acquisition of the Russian fantasy movie VIY. It is based on a short story by Nikolai Gogol and has broken box office records in Russia. The dark and opulently staged film by director Oleg Stepchenko is shot in real 3D and stars Jason Flemyng (“Primeval”, “Benjamin Button”) and Aleksey Chadov (“Night Watch”, “Day Watch”).
