Netherlands Film Festival announces winners Holland Film Meeting

The Netherlands Film Festival (NFF) this evening announced the project winners during the closing ceremony of the 30th Holland Film Meeting (HFM). The three winners were chosen out of 24 selected projects from 19 different countries. Each project was presented to some of international cinema's most important and influential financiers, distributors, sales agents and co-producers, in order to stimulate their co-production. All were in the running for a number of post-production prizes. HFM is the business arm of the Netherlands Film Festival, which runs till the 29th of September in Utrecht.

The winners of HFM 2017 are:

The Cam-a-lot & Filmmore Cinema Emerging Talent Prize for Best Project (valued at €10,000 in camera and post-production facilities):

  • The Whole-Timers by Bibhusan Basnet & Pooja Gurung (France/Nepal), produced by Marie Legrand. Production company: Les Films du Tambour

The WarnierPosta Prize (valued at €5,000 in audio post-production facilities in one of the WarnierPosta studios):

  • Life after Zoro by Raf Reyntjens (Belgium), produced by Xavier Rombaut. Production company: Bulletproof Cupid

The Filmmore HFM Work-in-Progress Prize (valued at €5,000 in facility services):

  • La cama by Monica Lairana (Argentina). Produced by Adriana Yurcovich a.o.

Jury's

Jury Cam-a-lot & Filmmore and WarnierPosta Prize: Vanessa Saal (Head of Worldwide Sales at Protagonist Pictures), Paolo Bertolin (Festival programmer, filmwriter and producer), Lucie Kalmar (Founder, producer and consultant at Mômerade Paris).

Jury Work-in-Progress Prize: Rémi Bonhomme (Programme manager La Semaine de la Critique at Cannes Film Festival), Inge de Leeuw (Programmer at International Film Festival Rotterdam) and Sarah Nagel (Founder of In Between Film).

In total fourteen projects were selected for the Co-Pro Platform, of which three were works-in-progress. The selection of BoostNL, a collaborative initiative with IFFR/Cinemart designed to strengthen market assistance, comprised four international and three Dutch projects in development, as well as two international and one Dutch work-in-progress.
