Hailee Steinfeld/ Dustin Lance Black / The Exchange
THE EXCHANGE CALCULATES THE STATISTICAL PROBABILITY OF LOVE Brian O'Shea, CEO of The Exchange, has announced a deal to sell international rights to the feature THE STATISTICAL PROBABILITY OF LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT. The Exchange will be selling the picture at AFM'14 in November. CAA holds domestic sales rights.
THE STATISTICAL PROBABILITY OF LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT is written, directed and executive produced by Dustin Lance Black, Oscar-winning writer of MILK. The picture is set to star former Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld (TRUE GRIT, ENDER'S GAME).
Hailee Steinfeld is represented by ICM Partners, Coast To Coast Talent Group, and her attorney is Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum.
The film is based on the popular YA novel of the same name by Jennifer E. Smith.
Set over a 24-hour-period, THE STATISTICAL PROBABILITY OF LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT follows Haldey (Hailee Steinfeld), stuck at John F. Kennedy Airport and late to her father's second wedding in London, who meets the perfect boy in the airport's cramped waiting area. His name is Oliver, he's British, and he's in seat 18B. Hadley's in 18A. Hadley and Oliver's story about family connections, second chances and first loves, will make you believe that true love finds you when you're least expecting it.
The film is being produced by a trio of acclaimed producers: Bruna Papandrea who worked with Dustin on MILK and is the producer of WARM BODIES, the current hit GONE GIRL and the upcoming WILD starring Reese Witherspoon to be released by Fox Searchlight next month; Caroline Kaplan, is the producer of the upcoming TIME OUT OF MIND directed by Oren Moverman starring Richard Gere and her producing credits include MONSOON WEDDING, LETTERS TO JULIET and BOYHOOD; and Steve Hutensky, a former top executive at Miramax and Relativity, is an executive producer on THE HUMAN STAIN and the upcoming THE MOON AND THE SUN starring Pierce Brosnan and producer of the thriller 2:22 which begins filming in January.
"Everyone has experienced a love-at-first-sight moment," said O'Shea, "With an incredibly accomplished actress in Hailee Steinfeld and a trio of producers with a eye for developing pictures with acclaimed performances, THE STATISTICAL PROBABILITY OF LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT has a high-probability to be a hit with audiences in any language."
