Bruno Wu to speak at AFMBruno Wu’s Seven Stars Entertainment and veteran producer Arthur Sarkissian have teamed up on a variety of international film projects, it was announced earlier in the year. The new joint venture is called Peak Time Entertainment. The two principals have prior history, but are set to embark on a multi picture trajectory. The Chinese film tycoon and veteran Hollywood executive are combining their creative and financial skills to initially leverage five projects. Among the planned projects is TITANIC CODE, a totally new take focusing on the conspiracy theory of the Titanic, based on a script by David Marconi, who wrote ENEMY OF THE STATE and many others, most recently the script for director Martin Campbell’s THE FOREIGNER, starring Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan. Seven Stars Entertainment, the global content flagship company of Sun Seven Stars Media Group, established by Chinese entertainment personality and businesswoman Lan Yang and international tycoon Bruno Wu, owns nearly 60 film production companies via acquisition and joint ventures, and produces around 20 English-language films, 300 hours of English-language TV, and over 150 variety and reality shows distributed to 64 countries. Since Seven Stars Entertainment launched its international entertainment initiatives four years ago, its projects have earned more than 10 awards from The Motion Picture Academy, the Television Academy and BAFTA. One of its joint ventures produced the American TV series, Scorpion, which was one of the most-watched TV shows in America during its first season. Sarkissian found and developed WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING from scratch, and it became Sandra Bullock’s first big hit. The subsequent RUSH HOUR franchise was discovered and developed by Sarkissian in 1998 and paired the unlikely duo of Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan. The first film grossed more than $140 million domestically and another $103 million internationally and the second installment of the series solidified his position as a hit-maker when the movie earned $900 million worldwide. 30.10.2016 | American Film Market Dailies's blog Cat. : Markets
