Nearly 600 professionals, mostly exhibitors but also distributors, producers and sales agents met in Athens from November 21st to 24th for the 18th Annual Conference organized by Europa Cinemas. They came from 47 countries in Europe, Latin America, Asia, the Mediterranean and South Africa, and, for the second year in a row, Europa International sales agents were present too.

Exhibitors were reminded that the cinema is not only the first release window for films, but also a social and creative venue that gives films their true dimension through diverse initiatives to attract wide audiences, and particularly the younger ones.

Three Europa Cinemas’ Awards were announced during the Conference:

Best Programming: Kino Artis, Tallinn (Estonia)

Best Young Audience Activities: Studio des Ursulines, Paris (France).

Best Entrepreneur: Golem Cinemas (Spain)

In addition, IDA (Poland) by Pawel Pawlikowski was chosen as the exhibitors’  “Coup de Cœur” 2013, with a special mention for the film CIRCLES (Germany, France, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia) by Srdan Golubovic
