Under its new management structure, with Lora Fox at the helm, Pinnacle Pictures, the London-based theatrical arm of Portman Entertainment, will use AFM as a springboard to court new partners for co-production opportunities, as well as providing finishing funds and acquiring product to increase its catalogue. Under the new deal Portman, via its parent company VTR plc, will plough substantial investment into Pinnacle.
Chiefly known in the arthouse field, Pinnacle is keen to expand its interest in the genre and low-budget market, and is also interested in putting together output deals and taking on executive producer roles. Fox is particularly keen to invest in package deals to invest in, structured in a similar style to Portmanís 10-picture deal with the New Zealand Film Commission. "I am keen to emphasise the true diversity of our future strategy," she explained.
"Our vision is for a multi-faceted Pinnacle."
