Probably the hottest film at last week's European Film Market in Berlin was Hettie MacDonald's debut feature, the urban fairytale "Beautiful Thing". Represented by Film Four International, and starring Linda Henry, Glen Berry and Scott Neal, this feel-good gay movie follows a group of young people living on a housing estate in South London.
Jamie is bunking off school. Next door lives sassy Leah who spends her days listening to records. When Jamie's class mate is bullied by his drunken father, he ends up sleeping head to toe with Jamie.
